Why it matters
Your tasks shouldn’t need an internet connection
A to-do list is something you reach for in the moments a connection is least reliable.
On a plane with the wi-fi off. On a train that keeps dropping between cells. Travelling with roaming switched off. In a basement office, a car park, a lift. In all of those, TheUndo behaves exactly the same as it does on full signal — you add the task and it is saved.
And plenty of people just prefer a list that does not depend on connectivity at all: no spinner, no “changes will sync when you are back online”, no wondering whether the last edit made it.

There is no TheUndo account. Install the app, open it, and your list is ready — no email to enter, no password to choose, and no verification code. Nothing stands between opening the app and writing down the first thing you need to do.
Where your data lives
Your tasks stay on your device
Your tasks, projects and settings are saved in TheUndo’s own storage on your phone. There is no TheUndo server for your tasks and no sync, so the content of your list is not sent anywhere.
Offline, everything keeps working. A new task, an edit, a completed item — each one is written straight to the device as you go. There is no pending queue and nothing to reconnect for.
Export makes a plain JSON file containing your tasks and projects. It opens your phone’s share sheet, so you decide where it goes — Files, a note, an email to yourself. TheUndo does not upload it. You can paste that file back in later to restore everything.
Two things do use the network, and neither one involves your tasks: when the app starts it checks whether a newer version of TheUndo is available, the same update check any app does, and the optional Pro voice input uses your phone’s built-in dictation. TheUndo contains no analytics or advertising code.

Offline doesn’t have to mean basic
The parts of TheUndo you use day to day all run on the device.
- Plain-language quick add. Type “Pay rent friday #Home, high” and TheUndo works out the date, project and priority. The parsing happens on the phone.
- Projects, priorities and statuses. Sort tasks into projects and track where each one stands — all of it held on the device.
- Due dates and reminders. Reminders are scheduled on the device, so they still fire when you are offline or in airplane mode.
- Recurring tasks. Set something to repeat daily, weekly or monthly — the next occurrence is generated on the phone, no connection needed.
- Search, sort and drag to reorder. Find anything by name, sort by due date or priority, or arrange the list by hand.

Does TheUndo work without internet?

Do I need an account to use TheUndo?
